Housing market normal by '09

While it's true that 2007 saw the first nationwide home price decline since the Great Depression and Florida home sales are down to 1997 levels, the real estate boom of a few years ago was an aberration, and the market is poised to return to normal.

That's what Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, told local Realtors at the Manatee Association of Realtors headquarters Wednesday. The market should be back to normal by 2009 and stay normal until — or if — there's another boom, Yun said.
